Kinder Morgan Foundation
Accepting Applications for K-12 Academic, Arts Programs
What?: The Kinder Morgan Foundation, the charitable arm of energy company Kinder Morgan, works to provide children and youth with opportunities to learn and grow. The foundation's goal is to help today's science, math, and music students become the engineers, educators, and musicians who will support their communities for many years to come. To accomplish that goal, the foundation supports K-12 program that promote the academic and artistic interests of young people in the many cities and towns across North America where Kinder Morgan operates. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded for academic programs, including tutoring; and arts education programs. To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit organization, public school, or private school.
When?: Application deadlines fall on the 10th of every other month, beginning in January. Applicants will be notified of a funding decision within sixty to ninety days.

Little Kids Rock Music Program
What?: Since 2009, Little Kids Rock music programs have been taught by 26 teachers to 2,541 Philly school children. Isn’t it time to bring a rockin’ music program to your school? K-12 teachers apply to be trained on an innovative and transformational methodology. After training is complete, teachers receive a donation of curricula, instruments, and other resources so they can launch music programming for students at their schools.

Fender Music Foundation Grant
What?: Fender Music Foundation awards instruments and equipment to eligible music instruction programs. Items are gently used, blemished and have been collected by manufacturers and retailers. Foundation is currently awarding acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass guitars and the equipment necessary to play these instruments. A qualified eligible program must be: 1) an in-school music class, in which students make music, 2) after-school music program not run by the school, 3) community music programs or 4) music therapy programs.

Charlie Lovett Fund for Elementary Drama
What?: Charlie Lovett Fund for Elementary Drama supports production based theatre arts programs at the elementary school level. Average grant size is $300. If your application is received after the funds are exhausted that year, you will be invited to reapply for the following year.

Classroom Help for Teachers - Digital Wish
What?: Digital Wish is a nonprofit that helps teachers (K-12) solve technology shortfalls in their classrooms. All teachers who submit a technology-based lesson plan on Digital Wish will be automatically entered to win as many as 50 technology grants.

Project Produce Fruit and Veggie Grants for Schools
What?: The Chef Ann Foundation has teamed up with the super foods company, Skoop, to offer grants intended to bring more healthy foods to students and spread awareness about healthy eating. Grants must be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Grantees are strongly encouraged to purchase locally grown vegetables and fruits, if possible. Projects must be planned with the intention of offering the activity to all students in the building. Up to $2,500.

Classroom Technology and Teacher Training Grant
What?: Teachers, K-12, are eligible to apply for classroom technology grants and teacher training. The purpose is to empower teachers and inspire students by providing state-of-the-art technology resources. Educators of America links teachers with the training and technology they need to increase student achievement at all grade levels. The organization collects donations from individuals and foundations and uses them to fulfill grant requests that are submitted by teachers and schools.

Innovation Access Program
What?: As part of the Week of Making White House Commitment, the Digital Harbor Foundation announced the Innovation Access Program in partnership with Printrbot, MatterHackers, and BuildTak. Through this new program, DHF will provide a FREE 3D Printer and accompanying 3D Printing for Educators Workshop (also for free) to one educator from each of the 50 states.

Every Kid in a Park
What?: The Department of the Interior, in collaboration with other government departments, is offering free passes to visit one of the National Parks (Independence National Historical Park is in Philadelphia). Fourth grade educators are eligible are eligible to receive free activities and free passes for their students.

Buckley Moss Foundation Grants for Teachers
What?: The P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children’s Education awards grants of up $1,000 to teachers, Pre-K-12, for projects that integrate the arts into educational programs. The Foundation is particularly interested in serving children who “learn differently.” The purpose for the grant is to support teachers who wish to establish or maintain an effective learning tool using the visual arts within the school day.

Emerging Teacher-Leaders in
Elementary School Mathematics Grant
What?: The purpose of this grant is to increase the breadth and depth of the mathematics content knowledge of one elementary school teacher who has a demonstrated commitment to mathematics teaching and learning. The applicant must have the support of the school principal in becoming a mathematics teacher-leader within her or his school district. For the 2017-2018 school year, grants with a maximum of $6,000 each will be awarded. Only one teacher per school may receive the award. The desired outcome of the funded project is the development of an elementary school mathematics teacher with mathematics content expertise.
When?: Applications must be postmarked by November 4, 2016.
